About The Fraudulent Execution
This excerpt is from The Fraudulent Execution, the origin story for The Hunted Heir and An Appearance of Impropriety. The Fraudulent Execution is a novella about a famous jock who was allegedly mentally incompetent and manipulated under duress to execute (meaning sign) an estate plan giving away his millions to a charity instead of his family members.
This sneak peek intentionally drops the reader into the middle of the story rather than starting at the beginning, offering a glimpse of where it all began—when DeMarcus Johnson was a young (and still cocky) associate, and attorneys Cassandy Singleton and Ben Kincaide were just launching their careers. Although this novella is an origin story, the novels were released in reverse chronological order, so some of these characters may already feel familiar. All the novels are stand-alone with character crossovers readers may recognize: DeMarcus appears in all three, and Judge Mahalia Jackson—introduced in An Appearance of Impropriety—becomes Cassandy’s friend and mentor in The Fraudulent Execution. Whether a longtime reader is curious about the backstory or brand new to these interconnected stories, enjoy this peek behind the curtain!
